A month-long training course in Mogadishu concluded today for participants from various FGS institutions, including the Somalia Investment Promotion Office (SOMINVEST) at the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development, to develop and improve their effective and efficient diplomacy and protocol skills.
The Diplomatic Institute hosted the diplomacy and protocol course, which was attended by 57 participants from Federal Government ministries, agencies, and other relevant institutions.
On Saturday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation presided over the closing ceremony alongside with The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E Mr. Mohamud Abdi Hassan (pekos), and Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Mr Abdiweli Hassan Hussein.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr Abdisaid Muse Ali, emphasized the significance of such courses and their impact on individuals and government institutions. “This course would benefit individuals and organizations interested in politics, security, and the economy,” he continued. “It will also help the institute’s role in intensifying its activities and programs,” he went on.
The Minister urged the attendees to put their newfound knowledge into practice.
According to H.E Mr. Mohamud Abdi Hassan (pekos), The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Diplomatic Institute offers integrated and broad-ranging capacity-building programs, including training and professional supervision, to achieve the desired goals of contributing decision-making positions.
The Diplomatic Institute’s Director, Mr Abdiwali Hassan Hussein (Fadilatahu), emphasized that the one-month course covered a wide range of diplomacy and related topics.
